Each religion has the same importance in Telangana: Puvvada
Khammam: Religious harmony was the hallmark of Telangana and each religion is given equal importance by the state government, Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar said on Wednesday.
The minister was speaking after distributing new clothes as Christmas gifts to poor Christians donated by the government at the Sahakara Nagar Tabernacle Church here. India as well as Telangana are known for religious harmony and brotherhood, he said.
Since the formation of separate Telangana, the TRS government treats all religions equally and offers new clothes to poor families. âJesus Christ came to this world to save us, to change the human disposition and not for religious conversion,â he declared.

âThe way indicated by Jesus Christ to achieve peace and love must be followed. Christmas is a holiday that the whole world celebrates, âsaid Ajay Kumar and wished every Christian a happy celebration.
The Gautham District Collector’s vice president said the government, in addition to providing clothing, has also hosted a dinner party for community members in recent years. The government’s goal was for the citizens of the state to celebrate their holidays with joy and pleasure.
Mayor P Neeraja, his deputy Fatima Zohara, SUDA B president Vijay Kumar, MLC B Lakshminarayana, municipal commissioner Adarsh ââSurabhi, district manager of minority protection Jyothi, CSI church president John Kantha Rao, Pastors Seshu Babu, Lazarus, B Suresh and others were in attendance.
Earlier today, Ajay Kumar laid the foundation stone for CC roads and drainage works worth Rs 50 lakh in the city’s fourth division. He asked those responsible for engineering to complete the work on time and ensure the quality of the work.
