The First Christian Church of Canton has a new pastor, Steve Mason
Canton — Canton’s first Christian church has a new pastor, Steve Mason.
Pastor Mason is a graduate of Vanderbilt Divinity School and has served congregations in Nashville, Kansas City and, most recently, Lincoln, Nebraska. He is joined by his wife, Caitlin, and his boys, Isaac and Finn.
They get to know their new home, cycle, walk their two dogs or garden in their backyard.
Canton is a new adventure for their family where they hope to put down roots for years to come. They moved to Canton in April. Pastor Mason says of FCC, “I am grateful for the opportunity to serve alongside such a vibrant congregation that not only celebrates its past, but has dreams for its future. I was drawn to them because of their clear commitment to their vision of becoming devoted disciples of passionate spirituality, joyful service, and inspiring generosity. It is a living and loving community of faith, and I am delighted to see what the good Lord is preparing in our ministry! “
The regional minister of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), the Reverend Teresa Dulyea-Parker, led the installation during the service on Sunday, August 29.
If you plan to attend a service, masks are required for all participants.
First Christian Church is located at 215 W. Elm, Canton.
